Tragedy struck in Arizona on Wednesday night when a police helicopter, answering a call about an active shooter, crashed, claiming the lives of two on board. The Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed on Thursday that the victims were a pilot and a trooper-paramedic, both integral members of their team.
The incident occurred in Flagstaff, Arizona, and its dramatic descent was caught on video by witnesses, showing the helicopter spiraling out of control from the night sky. As of now, authorities have not disclosed the identities of the deceased.
Amanda Brewer, a local resident who dialed 911 to report the shooting, recounted the harrowing experience to AzFamily. “You could hear the blades going,” she described. “Then there was a very large crash; it shook the house. It was startling.” Her account paints a vivid picture of the chaos and fear that enveloped the community in those moments.
