Palmdale Street shooting on Jacksonville's Northwest side leaves man dead

A shooting incident on the 2900 block of Beachwood Blvd. has left one individual critically injured and another deceased, as confirmed by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Tragedy struck the Beachwood neighborhood when a shooting claimed one life and left another person fighting for theirs, according to information from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

During a Sunday night press conference, Sergeant Saunders from the JSO Homicide Unit detailed that officers were dispatched to a report of gunfire in the 2900 block of Beachwood Blvd. at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds. One victim was declared dead at the scene, while a man in his 20s was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, Sgt. Saunders reported.

At the time of the press briefing, authorities had yet to identify the deceased victim.

The shooting reportedly occurred in a common area outside, and multiple people were detained for questioning.
