A tragic collision occurred early Tuesday morning on Jacksonville’s Northside, resulting in the death of a man in his early 30s. The incident took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ernwill Street and Flicker Avenue, according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) investigators.
The fatal crash involved a Ford Taurus and a pickup truck. The Taurus, driven by the deceased man, was heading north on Ernwill Street when it sideswiped a southbound pickup truck. The impact caused the Taurus to continue traveling for about a block before it struck a parked car.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, and the man was transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after reaching the facility.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene following the collision and was not injured in the incident, authorities reported.
The pickup truck driver was not injured, investigators said.
The intersection of Ernwill Street and Flicker Avenue will remain closed until JSO completes their investigation Tuesday morning.
