Murad’s family has described her as a vulnerable adult requiring medication, noting that she may seem confused or disoriented.

According to investigators, it is believed that Murad might have attempted to travel to Chicago after leaving the vicinity of the outlet mall.

The body was located by Aurora police at around 7:35 p.m. on Monday evening in the area of North Farnsworth Avenue and Corporate Boulevard, a location close to the mall.

The person has not been positively identified, and the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

Murad’s family said she died, but they did not say whether she was the person found in the pond.

Aurora police said officers initially searched the outlet mall and surrounding area after Murad was reported missing.

They also reviewed video that showed her traveling to the area of North Farnsworth and Corporate Boulevard.

The investigation remains ongoing.
