Emman Atienza, a popular figure on TikTok, has tragically passed away, with Los Angeles officials confirming her death as a suicide. This heart-wrenching news comes just a few months after she relocated to the city, seeking a fresh start.

The 19-year-old social media influencer died by hanging, as determined by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on Friday. Her vibrant presence online had garnered her a significant following.

According to Deadline, Emman made the move from the Philippines to Los Angeles this summer, aspiring to rejuvenate her life and advance her career.

Emman was open about her struggles with mental health. In a heartfelt Instagram post from January, she expressed uncertainty about her desire to continue living as she entered 2024.

She revealed her long-term battle with “treatment-resistant mental illness” that began at age 12, lamenting that her condition had only deteriorated over the years.

According to Atienza she relapsed into self harm last year and had gone to Los Angeles shortly after for therapy.

Heartbreakingly, she finished her post: ‘2024 was a whirlwind of ups and downs, but as I step into 2025, I can’t see a reason not to live.’

Her parents, Filipino television host Kim Atienza and businesswoman Felicia Hung, announced her ‘unexpected passing’ on Friday morning.
