A tragic helicopter crash off the Hawaiian coast claimed the lives of three individuals and left two others injured on Thursday.
The Kauaʻi Police Department reported receiving an emergency call around 3:45 p.m. regarding a helicopter that had plunged into the ocean near Kalalau Beach.
The aircraft, operated by Airborne Aviation, was carrying a pilot and four passengers when the accident occurred, according to officials.
In an official statement, authorities confirmed that three people lost their lives in the crash. The two survivors were transported to Wilcox Medical Center for medical care.

The crash location along Kauaʻi’s north shore is a popular spot for helicopter tours, with views of cliffs, beaches and waterfalls along the Nā Pali Coast.
