An undocumented immigrant in Indiana has been apprehended following allegations of causing a deadly crash involving a semi-truck, as reported by officials.
According to the Portage Police Department, Broko Stankovic was driving along U.S. Highway 20 in Indiana when traffic halted due to a Ram Sprinter making a turn near Douglas Drive. However, Stankovic reportedly did not slow his semi-truck, as detailed by FOX 32.
Authorities stated that Stankovic attempted a sharp left to avoid a collision, veering into oncoming traffic and colliding with a Subaru Crosstrek.
The impact caused the semi-truck to jackknife, striking the Ram Sprinter and pushing it into a road sign. Tragically, the 54-year-old Subaru driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
