A tragic discovery was made early Sunday morning when a man was found deceased following a house fire on West 26th Street, according to a representative from the local sheriff’s office.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Authorities in Jacksonville are conducting an investigation after a house fire led to the death of an unidentified man on Sunday morning.
During a press briefing, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that they responded to a fire emergency at a residence located on West 26th Street, near Spires Avenue, around 7:30 a.m.
Firefighters from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department successfully extinguished the blaze. However, upon entering the premises, they made the grim discovery of the man’s body inside the home.
While initial assessments suggest that no foul play is suspected, the sheriff’s office is collaborating with the state fire marshal and the medical examiner’s office to thoroughly investigate the cause of both the fire and the man’s death.
