In a tragic event that has left many in shock, a Disney enthusiast took her own life at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, as witnesses recount the harrowing scene. Summer Equitz, aged 31, traveled alone to Florida and tragically fell to her death from a 12th-floor balcony at the Contemporary Resort on October 14.
Guests and staff were left reeling as Equitz’s fall unfolded before their eyes. Among the witnesses were a married couple staying at the resort, who were standing on the fourth-floor observation deck when they heard the deafening sound of her impact, just 10 feet away from their position.
“We were outside on the balcony, enjoying the view, when suddenly we heard a massive bang,” one of the witnesses recalled. Turning around, they saw the devastating sight of Equitz lying motionless on the ground.
According to an incident report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office obtained by The Post, the witness approached Equitz to check for signs of life, but unfortunately, she appeared not to be breathing.
One of the witnesses “moved closer to see if she was breathing, which she did not appear to be,” the report stated.
Another witness described seeing “a person out of the corner of her eye and heard a huge bang.”
A member of staff at the hotel had been on the 15th-floor observation deck with a coworker when Equitz jumped to her death from three floors below.
“When he got to the 12th floor, [he] discovered a blue tote bag resting against the steel rail guard,” the report states.
