Josh Mauro, a former defensive lineman in the NFL who had an eight-year career spanning three teams, has passed away at the age of 35.
TEMPE, Ariz. — Josh Mauro’s untimely death was confirmed by the Arizona Cardinals, the Las Vegas Raiders, and his family through social media. The cause of his death remains undisclosed.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 290 pounds, Mauro spent six seasons with the Cardinals and had stints with the New York Giants and the then-Oakland Raiders. His standout performance was in 2016 with the Cardinals, where he played in 15 games, started 13 of them, and recorded 32 tackles.
Before his professional career, Mauro played college football at Stanford. His last appearance in the NFL was with the Cardinals in 2021. Throughout his NFL tenure, he participated in 80 games, started 40, and achieved five career sacks.
