A Miami-Dade deputy tragically lost his life following a shooting incident on Friday, prompting an extensive police operation.

Deputy Devin Jaramillo, aged 27, was fatally wounded while attending to a car accident. He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where he unfortunately passed away from his injuries. During a press briefing, Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz described the event as a “brutal attack” and confirmed that the deputy had been “murdered.”

“Today is a somber day. The incident that occurred in Miami-Dade County and the loss of our deputy is deeply unsettling and will remain so,” Cordero-Stutz expressed. “I urge our community to keep the deputy’s family in their thoughts and prayers, as well as our entire department, as we navigate through this painful time together.”
