JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead and two people seriously injured after a motorcycle crashed with an SUV on Airport Road in Jacksonville early Sunday morning, according to crash investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP investigators said the crash happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday, when a 29-year-old man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on Airport Road near Duval Road hit an SUV that was preparing to turn left on Airport Road.
Both vehicles came to a stop in the intersection of Airport Road and Duval Road.
Investigators said the man on the motorcycle was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Two people in the SUV, a man and a woman, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, FHP said.
