ANNANDALE, Va. — Tragedy struck in Virginia as authorities report that former state lieutenant governor Justin Fairfax has been involved in a murder-suicide, taking the life of his wife before turning the gun on himself.
Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis revealed on Thursday that the couple was discovered dead in their northern Virginia residence. This discovery came after a distressing 911 call was made by their teenage son shortly after midnight.

According to Chief Davis, the couple was amidst divorce proceedings at the time of the incident.
Earlier this year, officers had responded to the Fairfax home following Justin Fairfax’s allegations that his wife had assaulted him, Davis mentioned.
“The home was equipped with numerous cameras, reportedly installed by Mrs. Fairfax during the divorce process,” Davis explained. “Upon reviewing the footage, we found no evidence to support the assault allegations, and consequently, no arrests were made.”
