A suspect has been apprehended by Brunswick police following a deadly shooting outside a local restaurant, authorities confirmed.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, a tragic incident unfolded in the parking lot of The Jerk Shack, situated at 4420 Altama Avenue, Brunswick, Georgia. Police officers, who were already present at the scene around 2 a.m., were in the process of clearing the area when they heard the sound of gunfire.
Upon investigation, officers discovered a man who had been shot. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Brunswick Police Department reported that the restaurant was no longer open at the time of the shooting. Authorities have taken one individual into custody in connection with the incident as the investigation continues.
According to police, one suspect was taken into custody, and the restaurant had already closed when the shooting occurred.
The police department said it will not release the victim’s identity until next of kin is notified.
