Police say two suspects have been arrested and charged with the murder of a 14-year-old girl in Brunswick.
BRUNSWICK, Ga. — The Brunswick Police Department has reported that a 14-year-old girl had been shot and killed inside a house on Saturday evening.
Police say that at around 8 P.M., officers responded to the house on Altima Avenue in reference to a victim with a gunshot wound.
During the initial investigation, police say that an “acquaintance” inside the residence had shot the victim. Two suspects were arrested at the scene and have since been released into the custody of the Glynn County Sheriff’s Office.
The “acquaintance” was identified as Daquarius Wallace, 17, who police say was mishandling the firearm. He is charged with the following:
- Murder and cruelty to children in the second degree
- Possession of a firearm by a person under 18
- Reckless conduct.
The second suspect, 21, is charged with the following:
- Cruelty to children in the second degree
- Theft by receiving stolen property
- Reckless conduct
- Contributing to the delinquency of a minor
