A small plane crash in Phoenix has left a trail of destruction, with parts of the aircraft precariously hanging from a rooftop. The incident unfolded when the plane collided with a house shortly after taking off, tearing through a child’s bedroom and leading to three individuals being hospitalized.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. near Cave Creek Road and Deer Valley Drive, just minutes after the plane departed from Deer Valley Airport. According to a report by FOX10 Phoenix, the pilot encountered an unspecified issue, prompting an attempt to return to the airport. Unfortunately, the aircraft veered into a home, damaging the roof before crashing into a neighboring yard next to a swimming pool.
Eyewitnesses at the scene recounted the terrifying moment, describing the sound of “a big bang” as the plane impacted the house. The aftermath saw a man inside one of the homes transported to the hospital with injuries sustained during the crash.
As the community grapples with the aftermath of this harrowing event, authorities continue their investigation into what caused the pilot’s sudden predicament that morning.

“It sounded like, almost like a bomb went off, or someone slammed their trash can really hard,” the witness said.
Home surveillance video captured the moment the plane crashed. Aerial footage of the aftermath showed wreckage scattered across the roof, including a wing, while the fuselage sat crumpled in the backyard.

A man inside one of the homes was injured and taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to the report. A student pilot and instructor aboard the plane managed to climb out of the wreckage but were also hospitalized.
The crash ruptured the aircraft’s fuel system, triggering a hazardous materials response as gasoline leaked into the first home hit.

Fire crews said the plane caused significant damage to a baby’s room and another bedroom. The child was not inside at the time.
