Tragic Texas Cessna Plane Crash Claims 5 Lives: NTSB Launches Investigation

Authorities have reported that a tragic plane crash in Texas claimed the lives of five individuals overnight.

Emergency services quickly responded to the incident following a call about a plane crash on the 200 block of Round Rock Road in Wimberley, as noted by FOX 7 Austin.

The ill-fated aircraft has been identified as a Cessna 421C, which was transporting five passengers at the time of the accident.

Unfortunately, there were no survivors, as confirmed by the news outlet.

The cause of the crash involving the Cessna 421C on May 1, 2026, in Wimberley, Texas, is currently under investigation. (KTTV)

A preliminary investigation reportedly revealed the aircraft was traveling at a high rate of speed before it crashed, but did not show any indication of a midair collision. 

A second plane that was traveling in the area subsequently landed without incident at the New Braunfels airport.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the incident.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and NTSB for comment. 

The five individuals identities’ have not yet been released as authorities work to notify next of kin.
