In a disturbing incident out of South Carolina, a woman tragically lost her life after being deceived by what law enforcement has identified as a sham puppy sale. Her body was subsequently set ablaze, adding a horrific layer to the crime.

Two individuals, Iryanna Jarissa Fleming, aged 19, and Daquinn Taheen Thomas, aged 31, were apprehended on January 23. They now face charges including murder, first-degree arson, and possession of a weapon during the execution of this violent act, as noted in jail records.

Authorities have indicated that the investigation remains active, suggesting that further charges may be forthcoming as more details emerge.

In a connection to the murder of Dana Kinlaw, 40, both Fleming and Thomas, along with Nikko Carraway, also 31, have been implicated by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office. The charges reflect the gravity of the crime that has shocked the local community.

According to Florence County Sheriff TJ Joye, who spoke with Fox News Digital, the victim was drawn to a remote location under false pretenses by Fleming, who was reportedly an acquaintance. The deceitful promise of purchasing a puppy led Kinlaw into a trap, resulting in a tragic outcome.

She was then shot in the head before a liquid substance was poured on her body and ignited inside the vehicle.

Deputies were called to Atlantic Road near Springbranch Road in Effingham, South Carolina, on Jan. 22 where a vehicle was found on fire with a deceased person inside.

Joye told Fox News Digital that investigators believe the killing was an act of retaliation tied to another murder in neighboring Darlington County in which Kinlaw’s son is believed to have been involved.

WMBF News reported that a third suspect, Nikko Carraway, 31, was arrested on Wednesday and faces the same charges as Fleming and Thomas.

All three are being held without bond.
