() Recent photos from the Department of the Interior showcase progress in President Donald Trump’s initiative to address homelessness and remove homeless camps in the nation’s capital.

On Saturday, the Department of the Interior announced a new zero-tolerance policy for homeless encampments on federal land as efforts from the Trump administration escalate to clean up the city.

Efforts to remove encampments have increased since Trump announced a federal takeover of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department on Aug. 11 to crack down on homelessness and crime in the city.

Federal officials have cleaned up over 75 homeless camps in D.C. since Trump signed the “Making the District of Columbia Safe and Beautiful” executive order in March, according to the New York Post.

“President Trump signed the order to Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful in March, and our dedicated U.S. Park Police have been working around the clock since to enforce this directive, clean up our streets, and ensure our nation’s capital is safe,” said Interior deputy press secretary Aubrie Spady.

Last Tuesday, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said plans were in place to remove the only two encampments left in district parks.
