Travis Kelce Explains Why MSG Was Perfect for Taylor Swift Wedding

Travis Kelce took listeners back to July as he opened up about his New York City wedding to Taylor Swift.

During Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights,” the NFL standout revisited the couple’s “magical” celebration at Madison Square Garden, sharing why the iconic Manhattan venue proved to be the ideal backdrop for their intimate ceremony.

“Thank you [to] everyone at MSG that allowed us to do this,” Kelce, 36, said in conversation with his brother and co-host, Jason Kelce. “We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions.”

The Kansas City Chiefs star added that privacy was essential for the occasion, explaining, “We needed it to be a private feel. And MSG went above and beyond to give us that.”

Kelce also expressed gratitude to everyone involved in making the night possible, saying, “I can’t thank everybody enough that showed up but also that helped put the show on, and it was a very magical, magical night.”

The arena, notably, was transformed into a garden for the July 3 ceremony, one month after Page Six broke the news of the wedding location.

The tight end said Wednesday that he wished the star-studded event — which was “so much fun” — “could’ve lasted even longer than it did [because] it felt like it just happened in the blink of an eye.”

Travis told listeners, “The night was a night we’ll never forget. Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, you know, from the vows to just seeing everyone to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening.”

He specifically shouted out Adam Sandler for being the “f–king best person” and getting ordained in the state of New York to officiate the wedding.

The groom, who pointed out he is “over a month out” from tying the knot, has enjoyed “hearing … everybody’s stories of the night.”

The “Catching Kelce” alum initially broke his silence on the “crazy” wedding at his team’s training camp last month.

“It was a fun offseason, man,” Travis said before diving into the “best night of [his] life.”

He raved, “I appreciate everyone who came out and celebrated and had fun with us. That’s about all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration.”

Travis subsequently quipped it was time to get back to “football, baby.”

Swift has yet to publicly speak out about walking down the aisle — nor has she addressed her and Travis’ dog, Wendy, a Samoyed who was photographed in July.

Travis, however, posed with the canine for a Tommy Hilfiger shoot this week and broke his silence on the pet during Wednesday’s podcast.

“Little ‘ol Wendy’s a little over a year old now,” he said. “We’ve had her for quite a while. Trying to keep it under wraps.”

Page Six, notably, reported in July that the couple got their pooch “many months ago” and are “very happy” with it.
