Travis Kelce, renowned as one of the NFL’s premier tight ends, is set to make a comeback for his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to reports from NFL Network. The three-time champion continues to be a cornerstone for the team.
Despite being 36, Kelce maintained his status as a top performer last season, leading the Chiefs with 108 targets, 76 receptions, 851 yards, five touchdowns, and 45 receiving first downs.
Back in January, after the Chiefs wrapped up their season, Kelce expressed uncertainty about his NFL future. Nevertheless, he committed to making a decision by early March, ahead of the league’s free agency period.

Reflecting on the season’s conclusion, Kelce shared, “I just love this team. I’m proud of how we wrapped up the season, even though it didn’t end as we hoped. The guys gave it their all, and that’s all you can ask for. I have immense love for this team, this organization, and everyone involved.”
Before the last season kicked off, Kelce embarked on a rigorous training regimen aimed at enhancing his quickness and reclaiming agility lost over the past couple of years. This renewed athleticism enabled Kelce to lead the Chiefs once more in yards after the catch, totaling 424. He also made history as the third tight end in the NFL to surpass 13,000 receiving yards, achieving this milestone in just 192 games—the fastest ever. Additionally, he became only the second player in league history, alongside Hall of Famer Tim Brown, to record at least 75 receptions for 10 consecutive seasons.
Kelce’s fame has grown outside the football field in recent years thanks to his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift, his acting roles and the “New Heights” podcast he co-hosts each week with his brother, Jason Kelce.
On Christmas Day against the Denver Broncos, Chiefs fans inside Arrowhead Stadium — unsure if that night was going to be Kelce’s final home game — chanted “KEL-CE! KEL-CE, KEL-CE!” in the final minutes to express their gratitude and appreciation for one the franchise’s greatest players.
The Chiefs originally selected Kelce with the 63rd pick in the 2013 NFL draft, joining the team the same year as coach Andy Reid.
