Truckers for Trump boycotts 'social media noise': FreightWaves

(NewsNation) — Discussion of Truckers for Trump “boycotts” on social media won’t actually have an impact on New Yorkers, according to FreightWaves CEO Craig Fuller.

FreightWaves has been covering trucking since 2017, and there have been dozens of “trucking boycotts.” None of them have had an impact on consumer access to goods, according to Fuller.

“The fact is that the trucking industry has too much capacity,” Fuller said during an appearance on NewsNation’s “The Hill.” “The industry is really struggling. … We’re not gonna see truck drivers give up the opportunity to make money simply because of some political stance.”

In a report that has now been contradicted, a group of truckers, supporters of former President Donald Trump, were allegedly boycotting deliveries to New York City following the $355 million fine levied against him in a fraud case, according to a report by the New York Post.

Trucker Chicago Ray deleted a video calling on truckers to boycott New York City. Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, Ray said he deleted his first video after it went viral and caused hard feelings between himself and his grandson.

In the video, Ray stated that numerous drivers he had spoken to were planning to halt deliveries to protest the ruling issued in the Manhattan Supreme Court last Friday.

In the ruling, Judge Arthur Engoron barred Trump from holding director or officer positions in any New York businesses for three years after ruling that Trump falsely inflated his worth over the years to get better loans.

Trump has called the case, along with multiple other court cases against him, election interference.
