The Trump administration has announced plans to send two alleged drug traffickers, who survived a recent U.S. military operation in the Caribbean, back to their home countries of Ecuador and Colombia.

President Trump revealed on Saturday that the two individuals, who were the only survivors of a Thursday military strike that resulted in the deaths of two other suspects described as “narcoterrorists,” will be returned to their respective countries for “detention and prosecution.”

It remains uncertain whether Ecuador and Colombia will choose to prosecute these individuals or if they might ultimately be released.
