() President Donald Trump went after Taylor Swift as he praised Sydney Sweeney over her American Eagle advertisement.

The president took to his social media platform Truth Social, calling the “Bad Blood” singer “woke” and saying that he continues to “hate” her.

“Just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!),” Trump wrote. “She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT. The tide has seriously turned Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be.”

Sydney Sweeney gets Trump’s support

His post comes after Sweeney has received backlash over her new fall jeans campaign ad with American Eagle, which shows Sweeney standing beside a billboard that reads “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Genes.” She crosses out “genes” and replaces it with “jeans,” highlighting the brand’s signature denim.

Critics have said that the advertisement promoted the idea that white beauty standards were genetically superior to others.

“Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the “HOTTEST” ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are “flying off the shelves.” Go get ‘em Sydney!,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Monday.

On Sunday, the president said the ad was “fantastic” but only if Sweeney were a registered Republican.

Ongoing ‘Bad Blood’ with Taylor Swift

Trump’s recent post isn’t the first time he has gone after the Grammy winner, having criticized her after she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

In September, Swift wrote in an Instagram post supporting Harris that part of why she endorsed her was because of an AI-generated image on Trump’s website falsely showing the singer endorsing him.

“It really conjured up my fears around AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” Swift wrote. “The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

“I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time … She’s a very liberal person, she seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace,” he said following her endorsement of Harris, according to Billboard.

Days after her endorsement, Trump posted on Truth Social, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

In May, Trump wrote, “has anyone noticed that, since I said, ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’.”

Taylor Swift fans defend her against Trump

Fans of the “1989” singer went online to criticize the president.

“Attacking Taylor swift doesn’t make you strong it just proves how threatened you are by educated, influential women with actual morals,” X user @howdiditrow wrote.

Another X user wrote, “Trying to claim that Taylor Swift’s career isn’t going well is objectively so silly.”

Swift has the highest-grossing tour of all time, with her “Eras Tour” earning $2 billion.

American Eagle stock up

Following Trump’s post about Sweeney and American Eagle, the company’s stock jumped 14% on Monday.

American Eagle had defended its ad featuring the “Euphoria” actress Saturday.

“We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way,” the brand wrote on Instagram.
