Trump addresses health fears following lively 90-minute rally

In response to concerns about his health, Donald Trump took to Truth Social with a fervent 500-word message, asserting his relentless work ethic. The 79-year-old former president declared he is working “harder than I have ever worked before,” aiming to refute claims of potential health issues.

Trump’s statement followed a marathon rally in Pennsylvania, which lasted over 90 minutes, marking the beginning of his efforts to bolster Republican majorities in the upcoming midterm elections. His energetic address seemed to counter recent reports questioning his vigor and commitment.

The message appeared to be specifically aimed at The New York Times, which had published an article suggesting that Trump had reduced his public engagements and appearances compared to his first term. Seemingly undeterred, Trump declared, “There has never been a President that has worked as hard as me! My hours are the longest, and my results are among the best.”

Throughout his statement, Trump highlighted the successes of his second term, citing achievements in areas such as foreign policy, the economy, and border security. He claimed these efforts have fostered an “aura” of respect for the United States globally, suggesting that international perception of America has never been more favorable.

Trump touted the greatest hits of his second term – stopping wars, the economy, the border – and said he has ‘created an “aura” around the United States of America that has led every Country in the World to respect us more than ever before.’

The president then discussed his ‘long, thorough and very boring’ exams at Walter Reed Medical Center.

‘Seen and supervised by top doctors, all of whom have given me PERFECT Marks — Some have even said they have never seen such Strong Results. I do these Tests because I owe it to our Country,’ Trump noted.

He added: ‘In addition to the Medical, I have done something that no other President has done, on three separate occasions, the last one being recently, by taking what is known as a Cognitive Examination, something which few people would be able to do very well, including those working at The New York Times, and I ACED all three of them in front of large numbers of doctors and experts, most of whom I do not know.’

Trump directly took aim at The New York Times’ accusation that he has scaled back his public appearances in his second term compared to his first stint in the White House.

The article claimed that the President’s attempts to project ’round-the-clock energy, virility and physical stamina’ were becoming difficult for him to maintain as he ages.

‘Despite all of this, the time and work involved, The New York Times, and some others, like to pretend that I am “slowing up,” am maybe not as sharp as I once was, or am in poor physical health, knowing that it is not true, and knowing that I work very hard, probably harder than I have ever worked before.’

His packed schedule has included flying more than 12 hours nonstop to Israel to broker a Gaza cease-fire in October, attending dozens of public events each week and holding lengthy, energetic press conferences.

‘I will know when I am “slowing up,” but it’s not now!’

Trump said that given the evidence from all of the exams he has gone through to test his physical and mental health, The New York Times should face consequences for its reporting.

‘I actually believe it’s seditious, perhaps even treasonous, for The New York Times, and others, to consistently do FAKE reports in order to libel and demean THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. They are true Enemies of the People, and we should do something about it.’

He then pointed out that many liberal media members have been ‘forced to apologize on much of what they wrote’ regarding his election results.

‘The best thing that could happen to this Country would be if The New York Times would cease publication because they are a horrible, biased, and untruthful “source” of information. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’

The New York Times piece written by Rogers and Dylan Freedman claimed that Trump on average would start scheduled events at 10.31am during his first tenure, in 2017.

However, this year, the President started attending events later in the afternoon, on average at 12.08pm.

‘Name-calling and personal insults don’t change that, nor will our journalists hesitate to cover this administration in the face of intimidation tactics like this,’ A Times spokesperson told the Daily Mail.

‘Expert and thorough reporters like Katie Rogers exemplify how an independent and free press helps the American people better understand their government and its leaders.’

The overall number of Trump’s official appearances at White House events has declined by 39 percent compared to his first term, according to the New York Times’s analysis.

Throughout Joe Biden’s time in the White House, Trump and his Republican allies slammed the Democratic leader over his old age, lack of public appearances, and cognitive ability.

Earlier this year, pictures emerged from the Oval Office showing Trump with bruising on his hand, which was sometimes covered up by makeup. The White House claimed the bruising originates from the president shaking too many hands.

After photos showed him with swollen legs and ankles, the White House revealed in July that he had been diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency – a condition where leg veins can’t send blood back to the heart efficiently.

On Tuesday, Trump traveled to Mount Pocono, in the northeast part of the commonwealth, to give what was billed as an address on the economy.

In reality, the event had the makings of a campaign rally, as he defended his second-term record ahead of next year’s midterm races in front of a raucous crowd of MAGA faithful.

‘By the way, last election, did we kick a**?’ he asked at the top of his speech.

He then characterized former President Joe Biden, who was born in nearby Scranton, as a ‘sleepy son of a b****.’

Trump took aim at Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar, who is Muslim and was born in Somalia, saying she wears a ‘little turban,’ repeated the rumor that she married her brother and said she came from a ‘hell hole.’

He later said a chart displayed at the event looked like ‘s***’ compared to the immigration one he credited for saving his life in Butler, Pennsylvania, as he turned his head to look at it, narrowly missing an assassin’s bullet.

‘This is crazy because I haven’t made a speech in a little while,’ he conceded, taking in the crowd. ‘You know, when you win, when you win, you say, “I can now rest.”‘

He credited Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, whom he initially referred to as ‘Susie Trump,’ as the woman who demanded that he start making rally-like appearances again.

Republicans are concerned they could be facing a midterm ‘blue wave,’ which could wipe out their majority in the House of Representatives and create a narrower majority in the U.S. Senate.

Americans have expressed that they’re nervous about the economy, an assertion that has angered Trump in recent interviews.

He gave himself the grade of an ‘A-plus-plus-plus-plus-plus’ in an interview with Politico released Monday, and slammed the reporter for being ‘dramatic’ when she brought up Americans’ economic woes.

On Tuesday night, he hit back after Democrats saw a string of victories in off-year and special elections, winning on the issue of affordability.

‘But Democrats talking about affordability is like Bonnie and Clyde preaching about public safety,’ the president argued.

Trump also bristled at criticism from former allies, including retiring Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, for the trips he made abroad this year, defending his travel to the Pennsylvania crowd.

A little over an hour in, Trump admitted that the event wasn’t going as scripted.

His speech lasted an hour and 36 minutes.

‘I haven’t read practically anything off the stupid teleprompter,’ he said. ‘And then my speechwriters, they’re getting awards for some of the finest speeches, and I haven’t even read them,’ he laughed.
