Donald Trump has paid heartfelt tribute to his wife and team of MAGA patriots as they attended the glitzy National Governors Association dinner.

The president expressed his kind sentiments while addressing a room full of Governors and their partners. He pledged to bring everyone together regardless of their political affiliations and playfully hinted at who he believed might succeed him one day.

‘Someday, somebody sitting in this room is probably going to be here for four or eight years,’ he said.

‘We don’t know who it is… I have some suspicions, but you never know, right?’ he added, prompting laughter from the crowd.

Trump expressed his gratitude to First Lady Melania and acknowledged all her work in preparing for the evening.

‘Let me begin by expressing our gratitude to the First Lady of the United States for hosting the dinner,’ he said.

He showered praise on someone who had put in a lot of effort to ensure things looked beautiful, acknowledging her excellent skills in that area. Graciously thanking her for the outstanding job, he applauded her work as truly magnificent.

During his speech, Trump reassured the Democratic members present that he aimed to be a unifying President, offering his full support to all states and their leaders, irrespective of their political stance.

‘We have to get the job done for the people, you’re doing the job and I’m doing the job… we’re working together,’ he said.

‘My number, write it into your wallets or on your person because I am open to anybody, Republican or Democrat. If we can help, you’re going to call me up and we’ll take care of it. You’ll call the secretaries, you’ll call the Cabinet members, but if they don’t do the job, and I think they will, you’ll call me and we’ll take care of it.

‘That’s Republican or Democrat,’ Trump said again. ‘I’ll take the Democrat call even first. Can I say that?’

Trump went on to concede to the Democrats in the room: ‘You have some really great talent on the other side.

‘I won’t say how good some of the Democrats are but some of you are doing a really great job.’

He heaped the most praise on those within his inner circle, giving a shoutout to Vice President JD Vance and his wife the Second Lady, Usha.

‘We have some people I’ve become very close to – Vice President Vance, Second Lady Usha Vance. Thank you very much, what a great start.’

Noem has led the war on illegal immigrants as Trump delivers on his promise of mass deportation.

‘Congratulations as well to the eight new governors attending tonight – we have eight brand new beautiful governors,’ Trump said.

‘I have a tremendous respect for the burdens you bear overseeing state police forces, directing disaster relief efforts.

‘This evening we’re not Democrats or Republicans, we’re America’s chief executives to make our country run and run properly. I’m always just a phone call away.’

In true Trump fashion, he couldn’t resist making one comment which is sure to rile up his critics even in the midst of such a unifying speech.

The president made reference to the popularity of George Washington and the will of the people, at the time, for him to embark on a third term as President.

Amid heightened concerns from critics that Trump and his MAGA supporters could be gearing up to secure an unconstitutional third term, the President said: ‘George Washington… he could have stayed longer, they wanted him to stay longer.

‘He said, no we don’t want to do that, we want everybody to have a chance. He was very, very popular and he refused to stay longer.

‘That in itself was… a very important fact.’

Trump then opened up the microphone for anybody who wanted to make a statement or ask a question as he concluded his own speech.

‘It’s a beautiful elegant evening, we can sometimes make it inelegant by doing this,’ he said, ‘but it’s always interesting if you’d like and either ask a question or make a statement… we’ve been through it all.’

Trump looked dapper in a black tuxedo with a bowtie, while Melania was dazzling in a matching black pantsuit

MAGA’s other stars, namely Robert F. Kennedy Jr, Pete Hegseth and Marco Rubio, were also in attendance.
