President Donald Trump is suing The New York Times for $15 billion for defamation and libel.

In a late-night statement on Monday, the president criticized the publication, calling it ‘one of the most terrible and corrupt newspapers in the history of our nation.’

He described the lawsuit as a ‘great honor’ and accused the prestigious paper of becoming a ‘virtual mouthpiece for the Radical Left Democrat Party.’

Trump’s announcement comes days after the newspaper released articles on his ties to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Last week, he had warned of a lawsuit against The New York Times regarding its coverage of a decades-old sexually suggestive note and drawing associated with Epstein.

Trump said he views The New York Times as ‘the single largest illegal Campaign contribution, EVER.

Their Endorsement of Kamala Harris was actually put dead center on the front page of The New York Times, something heretofore UNHEARD OF!

‘The “Times” has been lying about your Favorite President (ME!), my family, business dealings, the America First Movement, MAGA, and our country as a whole for decades.’

‘I am PROUD to hold this once respected “rag” responsible, as we are doing with the Fake News Networks such as our successful litigation against George Slopadopoulos/ABC/Disney, and 60 Minutes/CBS/Paramount.’

Trump claimed that each of the networks he has launched legal proceedings against ‘knew that they were falsely “smearing” me through a highly sophisticated system of document and visual alteration, which was, in effect, a malicious form of defamation, and thus, settled for record amounts.

‘They practiced this longterm INTENT and pattern of abuse, which is both unacceptable and illegal.

‘The New York Times has been allowed to freely lie, smear, and defame me for far too long, and that stops, NOW!’

The suit will be brought in the state of Florida, where Trump often resides in his Mar a Lago estate.

In the September 30 endorsement of Harris, The New York Times editorial board described her as ‘the only patriotic choice.’

‘It is hard to imagine a candidate more unworthy to serve as president of the United States than Donald Trump,’ the piece reads.

‘He has proved himself morally unfit for an office that asks its occupant to put the good of the nation above self-interest. He has proved himself temperamentally unfit for a role that requires the very qualities — wisdom, honesty, empathy, courage, restraint, humility, discipline — that he most lacks.

‘Regardless of any political disagreements voters might have with her, Kamala Harris is the only patriotic choice for president.’

It comes after Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal and media mogul Rupert Murdoch in July after the publication similarly leveled allegations about a birthday note Trump allegedly wrote for Epstein.

Trump denied writing the letter, calling the story “false, malicious, and defamatory.”

That suit was also filed in Florida.

Paramount recently settled legal proceedings with Trump by paying him a whopping $16million after the president accused the network of deceptively editing an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris during the election campaign to present her in a better light.
