Trump Flirts With Nicki Minaj and Third Term at Midterm Rally

Nicki Minaj made a surprise appearance alongside President Donald Trump at his midterm campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday afternoon.

Addressing the crowd, the chart-topping rapper expressed her continued loyalty to Trump. “President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time,” Minaj said, adding that she would support him “forever and ever.” She also pledged her backing again if he decided to run for office in the future.

Before Minaj spoke, Trump drew attention to her appearance, complimenting what he described as her “beautiful a**” and urging her to stand so the crowd could see it.

Trump had made a similar remark about the backside of Ohio Republican Senate candidate Jon Husted. “I looked at his a**,” he said, before joking that he had never done the same thing with a man.

Before taking the stage, Minaj told the Daily Mail that she viewed the election as “the most important midterm election of our lifetimes.”

She said Republicans needed to secure a strong congressional team for Trump during the final two years of his presidency, allowing him to advance initiatives such as the Trump accounts, which she said she proudly supports.

Trump appeared at the McMorran Place Sports and Entertainment Center with fewer than two weeks remaining before the midterm elections. He was campaigning for Republican candidates as his party sought to overcome historical headwinds in November, despite a 36 percent approval rating in the New York Times average.

During his address, Trump launched a fierce attack on Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, describing him as a “Jihadist Muslim Brotherhood member” and warning voters against sending him to the Senate.

El-Sayed’s political views and Muslim background have made him a frequent target of Trump’s criticism. The President has called him a “Member of the Muslim Brotherhood” and said he should not be permitted inside the US Capitol in Washington, DC.

Trump also claimed that “Abdul” would be the only senator required to pass through a metal detector before entering the Senate.

Members of the public and congressional staff undergo security checks at the Capitol. Members of Congress generally bypass those screenings by displaying their identification pins to Capitol Police officers.

Muslim lawmakers, including Representatives Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, are not subject to additional screening beyond the security procedures applied to their colleagues.

Trump’s Michigan appearance came one day after El-Sayed held a Detroit campaign event with former President Barack Obama. Trump told supporters that his Sunday rally had drawn a larger crowd than the Democrats’ gathering the previous day.

Trump’s comments about El-Sayed followed another disruption during his speech, when a protester interrupted the rally and was described by the President as being paid to create a disturbance.

Such confrontations have become a recurring feature of Trump’s final series of campaign events ahead of the November midterm elections.

Trump again told the audience that protesters at his rallies receive $250 for causing trouble. When the individual stood up, Trump called on law enforcement to remove him as supporters in the crowd chanted, “USA, USA, USA.”

Once the interruption ended, Trump returned his focus to Michigan’s Senate contest between Republican Mike Rogers and Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.

He praised Rogers as a candidate straight out of “central casting” and referred to him as “apple pie,” suggesting that the Republican embodied a traditional image of Americana in contrast with El-Sayed.

El-Sayed, a son of Egyptian immigrants who could be the first Muslim US Senator, is running on a platform that includes ideas such as Medicare for All.

Michigan’s US Senate seat is rated as a ‘toss-up’ by the Cook Political Report.

In the final Michigan US Senate debate held last Wednesday between El-Sayed and Mike Rogers, they clashed over Rogers’s repeated attack that El-Sayed has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a politically active group across the Middle East, including Egypt, from which El-Sayed’s parents immigrated. It has been linked to other terror groups like Hamas.

Earlier this year, under President Trump, the US Treasury and State Department designated branches of the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organizations.

‘As a matter of fact, he asked the Muslim Brotherhood head, Morsi, in Egypt to defund the police there, too,’ Rogers claimed at one point in the debate, name-dropping the former Egyptian president who was tied to the group.

The line triggered a strong response from El-Sayed.

‘He keeps raising this question about this association with the organization,’ El-Sayed replied before telling Rogers: ‘It’s really quite beneath you.’

In another tense moment, Rogers called out El-Sayed for not being able to ‘even condemn the [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps], which is the terrorist enforcement arm of Iran, and doesn’t believe Iran is any more dangerous than Israel. This is an absolute nonstarter.’

While riffing on El-Sayed, Trump also said that he did not know how any Jews could support the Democrat, while claiming that his own approval rating in Israel is ’99 percent.’

Later on in the rally, Trump called for Muslim congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota to resign from Congress.

‘It was just revealed that Ilhan Omar’s name is not Ilhan Omar,’ Trump told the crowd.

The president claimed Omar had used a different name to get elected and sworn into Congress, then linked the allegation to longstanding claims that she married her brother.

The Department of Justice referenced Omar by the name ‘Ilhan Nur Said Elmi’ in court filings related to the federal raid of her Washington, DC residence, fueling fresh questions over allegations about the Minnesota Democrat’s identity.

But Omar has firmly rejected the claims, insisting her real name is Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.

He also brought up Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, Omar’s former husband, and claimed his name matched that of her brother.

During another notable moment in Sunday’s rally, Trump praised the men who helped him win Michigan in 2024, including Massad Boulos, his current Senior Advisor to the President of the United States on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs and concurrently the Senior Advisor for Africa at the US Department of State in the second administration.

Boulos is also the father of Michael Boulos, one of Trump’s sons-in-law, the husband of his daughter Tiffany Trump.

Trump also praised Amer Ghalib, the former Mayor of Hamtramck, Michigan, for his help in 2024 election. Trump put Ghalib forward for the post of US ambassador to Kuwait, but his nomination stalled in the Senate.
