Federal authorities may be closing in on a suspect in the suspected kidnapping case of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie, according to President Trump.
“I believe we’re making excellent progress on all fronts. You might be surprised to hear that,” Trump remarked to reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday night. “We have some very promising leads and I think we could have answers soon.”
When asked about the likelihood of a suspect being identified, Trump responded, “Yes, it could be definitive.”

“There are developments that I think will emerge relatively soon,” the president continued. “A lot has happened in the last few hours.”
Meanwhile, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday evening that they were aware of new information concerning Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Earlier in the week, media outlets received what appeared to be ransom notes related to the case.

Also on Friday, FBI agents removed what is believed to be a camera from the roof of Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home and seized an SUV parked in her garage.
The 84-year-old was last seen late on Jan. 31 and reported missing after she failed to show up for church the next day.
