In a bid to de-escalate tensions with Iran, Donald Trump has proposed a one-month ceasefire, accompanied by a 15-point peace plan. This move is part of a broader strategy by Washington to quickly navigate a way out of the ongoing conflict.

Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, key Middle East envoys, are actively involved in crafting a framework that would initiate a month-long ceasefire, allowing both sides to engage in meaningful negotiations. This information was brought to light by sources speaking to Israel’s Channel 12.

The peace plan, which draws inspiration from Trump’s previous Gaza deal, has been corroborated by two officials familiar with the ongoing discussions, as reported by the New York Times. The plan demands significant concessions from Iran, including the dismantling of its nuclear and long-range missile capabilities, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and severing ties with proxy terror groups in the region.

In return, the proposal offers Iran several potential benefits. These include assistance in developing its civilian nuclear program and the lifting of international sanctions, which could significantly aid in revitalizing Iran’s economy.

The proposal outlines reciprocal benefits for Iran, including assistance with advancing its civilian nuclear program, as well as lifting all sanctions imposed by the international community.

Pakistan delivered the plan to Iranian officials with a 24-hour deadline to respond, Haaretz reported.

Trump said Tuesday that Iran had abandoned its nuclear ambitions, with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio leading the peace talks.

‘They’re talking to us, and they’re talking sense,’ the President told reporters in the Oval Office.

‘I don’t want to say in advance, but they’ve agreed they will never have a nuclear weapon.’

Trump has come under intense pressure to end the war which has sent global oil prices skyrocketing as Iran strangles the narrow Strait of Hormuz.

Oil futures dropped sharply on news of the 15-point plan, with Brent crude – the global benchmark – falling from $100 per barrel to $95.

Trump announced a five-day halt to US strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure on Monday as he urged Tehran to come to the negotiating table.

The US is considering deploying 3,000 paratroopers for a possible ground invasion despite the diplomatic overtures, joining thousands of Marines already in the region.

Mohammed-Baqer Qalibaf, speaker of Iran’s parliament, has emerged as the country’s de-facto leader, with Trump officials singling him out as their preferred interlocutor.

Qalibaf has denied talks with Washington.

Trump refused to provide names on Tuesday as he bragged: ‘We killed all their leadership.’

The President claimed that Iran had presented the US with a valuable gift, in a sign of their goodwill, without revealing what that was.

‘They did something yesterday that was amazing. Actually, they gave us a present and the present arrived today and it was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money,’ Trump said.

‘And I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize and they gave it to us.’

Asked about the proposed month-long ceasefire and 15-point peace plan, the White House refused to confirm or deny the report.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the Daily Mail: ‘As President Trump and his negotiators explore this newfound possibility of diplomacy, Operation Epic Fury continues unabated to achieve the military objectives laid out by the commander in chief and the Pentagon.’

Trump’s 15-point peace plan:

Israel’s Channel 12 specifies 14 of the 15 demands and benefits for Iran that have been delivered to the Iranians through diplomatic backchannels.

US DEMANDS:

1. Iran must dismantle its existing nuclear capabilities.

2. Iran must commit never to pursue nuclear weapons.

3. There will be no uranium enrichment on Iranian territory.

4. Iran must hand its stockpile of some 450 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent to the International Atomic Energy Agency in the near future, in a timetable to be agreed.

5. The Natanz, Isfahan and Fordo nuclear facilities must be dismantled.

6. The IAEA, the UN’s nuclear watchdog, must be granted full access, transparency and oversight inside Iran.

7. Iran must abandon its regional proxy ‘paradigm.’

8. Iran must cease the funding, direction and arming of its regional proxies.

9. The Strait of Hormuz must remain open and function as a free maritime corridor.

10. Iran’s missile program must be limited in both range and quantity, with specific thresholds to be determined at a later stage.

11. Any future use of missiles would be restricted to self-defense.

IN RETURN, IRAN BENEFITS AS FOLLOWS:

12. Iran would receive a full lifting of sanctions imposed by the international community.

13. The US would assist Iran in advancing its civilian nuclear program, including electricity generation at the Bushehr nuclear plant.

14. The so-called ‘snapback’ mechanism, which allows for the automatic reimposition of sanctions if Iran fails to comply, would be removed.
