() President Donald Trump is supporting a school in Long Island, New York, as it attempts to keep its “Chiefs” name and logo amid a state Board of Regents mandate.

Massapequa High School has been fighting to maintain its name and logo of a tribal chief wearing a traditional headdress, notwithstanding a New York state ban on Native American imagery.

In a post to Truth Social on Tuesday afternoon, Trump said he agreed with their cause and would enlist the help of Secretary of Education Linda McMahon.

“Forcing them to change the name, after all of these years, is ridiculous and, in actuality, an affront to our great Indian population,” Trump wrote.

“It has become the School’s identity and, what could be wrong with using the name, ‘Chief’? I don’t see the Kansas City Chiefs changing their name anytime soon!

According to the New York Post, Massapequa lost a legal battle in March. The school district told the Post it would cost approximately $1 million to rebrand.
