Donald Trump said in an interview Sunday that many of the celebrities featured in his upcoming book of letters are no longer friends with him, while he also compared himself to Richard Nixon.
The former president is publishing a book that includes letters sent to him from celebrities, athletes and politicians, many of whom he no longer sees eye-to-eye with.
The book, titled Letters to Trump, will be released on Tuesday and will set readers back nearly $100.
It’s already been revealed a letter sent to the former president by King Charles III is being published ‘without’ the monarch’s permission.
In an interview Sunday, Trump detailed many others who were included in the book, including Oprah Winfrey, whom he says asked – and was granted – a funeral for a business partner at Mar-a-Lago.
He says that Winfrey, like many celebrities, turned on the president when he entered politics.
‘I had a great relationship with Oprah, I had a great relationship with almost everybody,’ he told Mark Levin. ‘But once I went into politics – and I don’t mean I said something offensive, I mean literally once I went in – it changed.’

Fox News’ Mark Levin showed excerpts from the book, including a letter from Winfrey where she said: ‘There’s nothing like being treated like a queen by a man who knows how to be a king.’
‘It is incredible, when you look at the difference between those letters and now,’ Trump told Levin.
He notes, however, that he’s happier being loved by ‘the people,’ whom he says like him even more now than before he entered politics.
Trump – who is currently both running for president again and facing a grand jury indictment in Manhattan – published numerous, varied celebrities in the book.
The new Trump interview was recorded before his NYC indictment.
One of the letters is written by Winfrey after Trump sent her a book excerpt from his book ‘The America we Deserve’, which was published in 2000 before he became President. In the book, the former President had written that his ‘first choice for Vice President would be Oprah Winfrey’.
In the hand-written letter, Winfrey writes: ‘Donald, I received the book excerpt. I have to tell you, your comments made me a little weepy. It’s one thing to try and live a life of integrity – still another have people like yourself notice. Thank you, Oprah.’
At the bottom of the letter first published by Axios, the iconic talk show host adds: ‘Too bad we’re not running for office. What a team!’
Winfrey addressed that letter on CBS News with pal Gayle King back in March.

‘I might have thought it back then. I might have thought it 23 years ago,’ she said. ‘I’m not thinking it today.’
Trump also spoke about letters he received from former presidents, including Richard Nixon and friend-turned-rival Bill Clinton.
The former president, as he has in the past, compared his plight with that of Nixon, who had to resign.
‘I’ll never forget: when that happened, we had such great support. Nixon had no support. You know, he just didn’t have support. He was very, very tough with people,’ Trump said, appreciating supporters in Congress like Jim Jordan.
‘I get along with people. I mean, I have great Jim Jordan and all these congressmen are great. They’re really incredible people,’ Trump said in an interview with Mark Levin, aired on Fox News.
He also admitted that he is his ‘own worst enemy’ much like Nixon.
Trump said: ‘He was a very tough guy, he was, I guess some people would say this about me too, he was his own worst enemy. I could say that a little bit about myself. Much less so than people think I would say.’
And Trump also went on to say that he was asked if he’d give Nixon the Presidential Medal of Freedom – but he said that he was too busy.

Former President Trump on Sunday compared himself to former President Nixon, touting the support he has in Congress and within his own party as he weathered impeachment proceedings and now faces ongoing legal battles.
When speaking of former President Clinton, Trump spoke of his and Hilary’s attendance at his wedding to Melania, their shared love of golf and Clinton’s particular enjoyment of Trump’s Westchester, New York-based golf club.
‘He loved that course. He was there a lot. He just loved it. He loves playing golf, and he was… better [at golf] than people think… He’s got a certain athleticism, actually,’ Trump said.
Trump also expressed his confusion – and in a way, thankfulness – that the Clinton 2016 campaign didn’t use the former president much.
‘I think they did a great disservice by not using him when I went against Hillary. I think that they had this unbelievable weapon known as Bill Clinton, who was a natural politician,’ he said.
‘He was a weapon that they decided not to use. They actually did the opposite. They shut him out. They shut him out, and I think that was a mistake.’
Trump also publishes a letter from Alec Baldwin, who went on to portray Trump in a much-derided recurring Saturday Night Live sketch.
‘Donald, For a tough guy in a tough business, you are a sweet and generous man,’ Baldwin wrote in 1998.

Trump joked about Baldwin wanting to play Trump in a movie but notes ‘he’s got his own problems’ now, referring to the investigation after Baldwin fired a fatal shot from a prop gun on the set of his movie Rust.
Trump wrote in his book, which will cost $99 or $399 for a signed edition, that he still thinks Winfrey is ‘amazing’. But he added that Winfrey does not feel the same way.
‘Sadly, once I announced for President, she never spoke to me again,’ Trump writes.
The book from Winning Team Publishing will include letters from former Presidents Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Clinton as well world leaders including North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un, Russian President Vladimir Putin and former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
Trump noted when mentioning the letter from Putin that he felt the Russian leader was emboldened to invade Ukraine by President Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.
‘I think it was the most embarrassing period, the way we withdrew – not the fact that we withdrew – the way we withdrew from Afghanistan. And I think Putin actually saw that and he probably got a little more ambition, frankly,’ he told Levin.
The book, set to be published on April 25, will also include letters from Hillary Clinton, Michael Jackson, former senator Ted Kennedy and the late American golfer Arnold Palmer.
The publisher Winning Team Publishing last year released Trump’s photo book ‘Our Journey Together’. That book grossed over $20 million in sales in the first two months alone.
Sergio Gor, the founder of Winning Team Publishing, told DailyMail.com: ‘What do presidents, royals, celebrities, and business titans have in common? They all love Donald Trump.
‘Long before entering politics, Donald Trump lived an extraordinary life. No book highlights his iconic relationships like Letters to Trump, and we are thrilled to be able to share it with our readers.’
