Trump White House unveils ‘Presidential Walk of Fame’ with Biden autopen portrait

The White House unveiled a “Presidential Walk of Fame” Wednesday just outside the Oval Office featuring portraits of U.S. presidents, with the exception of former President Biden.

Photos and videos of the new display posted by White House staff and social media accounts show gold frames of past presidents. But for Biden, the White House framed a photo of an “autopen” writing Biden’s signature.

President Trump and his allies have fixated on Biden’s use of the autopen, a tool that can be used to sign official documents in place of a manual signature. It has been used by presidents of both parties.

But Trump and others have cited Biden’s autopen use to raise questions about his cognitive abilities while in office and whether other aides were making major decisions about pardons and other matters.

Biden, as well as former aides who have testified before a House committee, have sharply pushed back on the suggestion that he was not the one making decisions while in office.

A Biden spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the portrait.

Trump had teased the autopen portrait during an interview earlier this month with The Daily Caller.

The walk of fame is the latest instance of Trump remaking the White House in his image. He has replaced the Rose Garden grass with a stone patio, and he has directed construction of a White House ballroom near the East Wing.
