PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (WFLA) A Michigan doctor is being extradited to Florida after undercover officers caught him soliciting a mother to allow him to sexually abuse her young daughter, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department.
Undercover detectives began talking to Dr. William J. Murdoch in June, posing as someone who Murdoch believed to be the mother of a 5-year-old girl.
“Murdoch was pursuing a platonic relationship with the fictitious mom to see if she would allow her 5-year-old to be courted by and have a sexual relationship with him,” PSLPD wrote in a news release.

Detectives described the online exchange as “stomach-churning,” stating that Murdoch’s “demented behavior” included plans to “groom” the child and then quickly turn things sexual.
“During the digital forensic examination of Murdoch’s iCloud and messaging account he was speaking to the undercover detective where additional conversations were located revealing his training as a medical professional would assist in other alarming dark web hunts,” PSLPD wrote. “This again is too explicit to share in its entirety. However, it entails conversations of: conception, full term abortions, and intentional drug and alcohol use to cause birth defects.”
Murdoch was arrested in Michigan, accused of soliciting a parent to consent to the participation of sexual conduct involving a child. He will be extradited to Florida to face charges.
