Police say a group of women were involved in an argument that became physical. One of the women involved began shooting out of her car door, according to JSO.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men were injured in a shooting Saturday night after an argument among a group of women escalated into violence on the city’s Northside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Sergeant Smith with the Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit said officers responded around 8 p.m. to the 5400 block of Avenue B following reports of a shooting. Shortly after, police were notified that two gunshot victims had arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle.
One man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his backside, while the other was shot in the leg. Both are expected to recover.
Investigators say the incident began as a verbal altercation among several women, which turned physical. One group got into a vehicle and left the scene, only to return shortly afterward. A passenger in the vehicle then opened fire into the crowd, striking the two male victims.
Witnesses said the women were possibly driving a Nissan.
JSO’s Crime Scene Unit is processing evidence at the scene, and violent crimes detectives are canvassing the area for surveillance video and additional witnesses.
