Two Men Discovered Deceased Near Springfield Residence, Initiating Homicide Investigation

On Thursday afternoon, Jacksonville police officers responded to a distress call on Washington Street, where they found two men in their 20s deceased at the location.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported the grim discovery of two men found dead in the Springfield neighborhood on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities were summoned to the 800 block of Washington Street following reports of an unresponsive individual located outdoors behind a residence, as stated by the JSO.

Upon arrival, police and fire rescue teams confirmed that the two men were already dead at the scene.

Although no visible injuries or causes of death have been identified, the incident prompted the involvement of both the homicide unit and the crime scene unit, who are conducting an investigation.

The sheriff’s office said there was no suspect information Thursday night, but that there is no active community threat that investigators are aware of.
