Penn State fraternity members among 14 charged in major cocaine ring bust
Pennsylvania authorities have charged 14 people, including current and former Penn State University students, in connection with an alleged large-scale drug operation on campus. Prosecutors say the network distributed cocaine through prominent fraternities, including Delta Upsilon and Sigma Chi. Two University of Mississippi students have been found dead as authorities investigate possible drug-related circumstances, officials confirmed to News Media.
Lafayette County Metro Narcotics said in a news release that investigators are examining the deaths of two college-aged people discovered at separate locations. Authorities have not determined whether the cases are connected. However, packaged kratom purchased from a retail store was found during both investigations.

“We do not have confirmed information indicating that kratom or any other substance was a contributing factor in either death,” the agency said.
The University of Mississippi confirmed in a statement to News Media that both people who died were enrolled as students.

“The University is heartbroken by the recent loss of two students and extends our condolences to their families, friends and loved ones during this difficult time,” a campus spokesman said.
