In a significant development, authorities have apprehended a man accused of murdering a Florida resident and concealing the body in a recycling bin. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office revealed that the suspect’s arrest concludes an extensive international pursuit stretching across borders.
Alfredo Carballo Gonzalez, aged 32, was detained by Mexican law enforcement on January 27 and promptly extradited to Miami. Upon his arrival, he was arrested by homicide detectives the following day. Although details regarding Carballo Gonzalez’s immigration status remain undisclosed, inquiries have been made to ICE by Fox News Digital for further information.
This arrest marks a turning point in the investigation into the murder of Daylon Fleitas Gonzalez, who mysteriously vanished in early August 2025. His disappearance followed a meeting with Carballo Gonzalez in Medley, Florida, sparking a probe that eventually led investigators beyond U.S. borders.

The suspect, Alfredo Carballo Gonzalez, was intercepted in Mexico and returned to Miami-Dade, where he faces charges for allegedly murdering Daylon Fleitas Gonzalez before fleeing the United States. His girlfriend, Ariely Alvarez Cabrera, has also been implicated and charged in connection with the case.
According to detectives, the two men met on August 3 near Northwest 106th Street and 95th Avenue. It was here that Carballo Gonzalez reportedly entered the victim’s truck, leading to a confrontation that turned deadly.
According to WTVJ, citing court docs, Fleitas was meeting with Carballo Gonzalez to receive $10,000 that Carballo Gonzalez owed him.
According to investigators, Carballo Gonzalez was then seen placing a recycling bin into the bed of the truck and driving away. A second vehicle followed and was later identified as being driven by Ariely Alvarez Cabrera, Carballo Gonzalez’s girlfriend.

Five days later, on Aug. 8, the department said that homicide detectives located the victim’s truck with multiple items of “evidentiary value” inside.
During a canvass of the area, detectives found the recycling bin that had been transported in the truck, and Fleitas Gonzalez was found dead inside. Authorities allege that Carballo Gonzalez and Alvarez Cabrera fled with their 5-month-old baby.

Jail records show Carballo Gonzalez is facing charges of second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. Cabrera is also facing a charge of tampering with physical evidence, as well as a charge of accessory after the fact.
Officials said that the baby was recovered safely and returned to Florida. Fox News Digital has reached out to Alvarez Cabrera’s attorney, Bijan Sebastian Parwaresch, for comment.
