In a curious incident in Roxborough Park, Colorado, two bucks took their sparring a bit too far, ending up in a most unusual venue for a workout—a basement gym. The incident unfolded around 12:30 a.m., when the deer, locked in a head-butting contest, crashed through a home’s window well, unexpectedly joining a late-night gym session.
The unexpected tumble into the basement gym was quite the surprise for the homeowner, who promptly alerted authorities. Responding to the call, officers from Colorado Parks and Wildlife were dispatched to handle the situation and safely retrieve the overly enthusiastic pair of deer.
In this instance, the bucks’ impromptu gym visit serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of wildlife, especially during the rutting season when such displays of dominance are common.
The officers used tranquilizer guns to put the intruders to sleep, and West Metro firefighters used a MegaMover tarp stretcher to collect the heavyweights from their late-night gym session.
“We’re guessing the bucks will think twice before their next late-night showdown,” West Metro said in a Facebook post.
CPW tagged the bucks before releasing them once they woke up.
