If you missed the chance to snag the popular Bearista cups, you’re in luck—another opportunity is coming your way, this time without the need to brave store lines.

WASHINGTON — Starbucks is reintroducing its much-loved Bearista cup, but don’t expect to find it on the usual store shelves.

Recently, Starbucks teased its Rewards members through the app, hinting at a surprise: “check back on 12/8” for another opportunity to own the charming glass bear-shaped cup. The reveal ties into this year’s Starbucks for Life Merrython game, adding an extra layer of excitement.

The Starbucks for Life 2025 Merrython is a festive competition exclusive to Starbucks Rewards members, offering a wide array of prizes. This year, among those prizes, are 17,000 of the coveted Bearista cups.

The event will be held from December 8, 2025, through January 4, 2026, at participating locations across the United States.

How to play Starbucks for Life Merrython

For a chance to get your hands on the viral Bearista cup, customers can sign in on the Starbucks for Life page or in the app each week to get one free game play and one sweepstakes entry for that week’s drawing.

You can earn up to 2 additional plays per day by either making a qualifying in-store purchase as a Rewards member, or using the no-purchase alternate entry, where you fill out a quick form online to get a play.

Each play lets you spin through the Merrython experience and see if you’ve won an instant prize.

Top sweepstakes prizes include:

Instant-win prizes include Starbucks rewards stars, free bakery items, handcrafted drinks, cake pops, coupons and digital gift cards, with millions of prizes available.

Are the Bearista cups being restocked?

The initial drop of Bearista cups led to quite the frenzy. The 20-ounce glass cups quickly hit resale sites, like eBay, and selling for hundreds of dollars. Some are listed for as much as $300. There was even a brawl at a store in Texas over some of the “Bearista” cups.

This time, you won’t be able to directly purchase this new stock of Bearista cups. But 17,000 glass Starbucks Bearista Cold Cups are being given away as instant-win prizes through the Merrython game.

The cups are limited to one per person and they’re randomly awarded during game plays, just like other instant prizes.

Winning a Bearista cup happens through the app, so if you see it as your prize, you’ll get instructions on how to claim it. No waiting in a long line this time around.

So if you missed out when the $29.95 Bearista cup sold out in stores, your best bet is to log into the Starbucks app, Starbucks for Life Merrython and hope the bear shows up on your screen.
