Britney's ex finally tells secrets he refused to spill for $1 million

Kevin Federline is deeply worried about his former wife, Britney Spears, fearing that time might be slipping away for her well-being.

Federline has unleashed a series of startling revelations in his latest tell-all book, “You Thought You Knew.” He alleges that Spears would often get “drunk as hell” in front of their children and even once appeared at their bedroom door wielding a knife.

The 47-year-old DJ has faced backlash for these shocking disclosures. Spears, now 43, has criticized the memoir as nothing more than a ploy to capitalize on her name, especially since she stopped child support payments for their sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden, 18, a few months ago.

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Federline firmly denied these accusations, stating that he has previously turned down lucrative offers in the millions to spill secrets about Spears.

“Everyone is concerned about her, right? That’s partly why I’m doing this,” he explained. “I’m making a public plea for help.”

‘We’ve tried to handle things privately for so long that I felt the need to come forward and really try to gain some support for the family, the boys and her. It’s just needed. I feel like the clock is ticking.’

Kevin Federline has insisted his controversial memoir is not a cash grab but a personal ‘cry for help’ for Britney Spears and an attempt to heal her relationship with their two sons

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Federline, 47, rejected claims that he published the tell-all for money as he has frequently refused ‘seven figure’ sums to tell his story

Spears’ erratic behavior is believed to be the reason for her estrangement from Sean Preston and Jayden, who are based at their father’s home in Hawaii and have little contact with their mother in Los Angeles.

Federline said their heartbreak at watching their mother’s continual erratic behavior, despite being freed from her 13-year conservatorship in 2021, has left him ‘absolutely shocked and terrified’ and has been the driving force behind his decision to finally break his silence.

Spears was placed under the controversial legal conservatorship in 2008, weeks after Federline was awarded sole legal and physical custody of their boys, and months after a very public drug-fueled meltdown which saw Spears dramatically shave her head.

In a post this week, Spears claimed she suffered brain damage as a result of a four month stint in rehab in 2018.

Federline said the conservatorship, during which Spears’ life and finances were controlled by her father Jamie Spears, allowed him to feel ‘comfortable with our children being around’ the singer.

‘I knew that there’s always ups and downs with anybody’s life,’ he told the Daily Mail. ‘But until my son started coming to me after the conservatorship ended, that’s when I write in my book the things that they went through.

‘And I was absolutely shocked and terrified.’

He continued: ‘Definitely everybody was worried about her back then and now. That’s the thing, nothing has really changed at all through all this, out of all the trying, all of the things behind closed doors.

Spears has recently sparked concern over her 'erratic' social media posts, as family insiders previously revealed she is 'not doing well at all'

Federline published an avalanche of explosive claims about Spears in his new tell-all, claiming Spears would get ‘drunk as hell’ around their children, who he also claimed once woke in the middle of the night to see her in the doorway holding a knife

‘And that’s kind of where I’m at today. It’s like something needs to happen before something drastic happens.’

When asked what specifically could be done to help his ex wife – whether it be rehab, therapy or another conservatorship – he said: ‘I don’t know. That’s the thing is that so many things have already been tried. And for me, I don’t have all the answers.

‘I’m not up here preaching like I have all the answers. I just know that I’m not going to sit on the sidelines and do this.’

Federline and Spears got married in October 2004 following a whirlwind romance which saw them welcome Sean Preston in September 2005 and Jayden the following September.

She filed for divorce two months after the birth of their second son, before it was finalized in July 2007.

Federline, who was already a father to Kroi, 23, and Kaleb, 21, with his ex Shar Jackson, went on to marry former volleyball player Victoria Prince in 2013. They are parents to Jordan, three, and six-month-old Peyton Marie.

‘I’m a father of so many kids and watching what my sons are going through and watching what the situation is, I just can’t be quiet about it any longer,’ he said.

Spears has questioned the timing of Federline’s memoir with the release date close to the one-year anniversary of her ceasing child support after Jayden turned 18 and graduated from high school.

Jayden, 18, last visited his mom 'three or four months ago,' Federline claimed. The star posted a photo of them together in June of this year

For nearly two decades, she had been paying an initial monthly sum of $40,000, which was later reduced to $20,000 a month.

When excerpts from his book were published earlier this week, Spears accused him and others of trying to ‘profit off my pain.’

‘If you really love someone then you don’t help them by humiliating them,’ she wrote on Instagram.

She also accused him of ‘constant gaslighting,’ claiming it was ‘extremely hurtful and exhausting’ as she has ‘always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys.’

‘Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here,’ she added.

‘Look, if this was about money, I couldn’t have cashed in a long time ago for a lot of money,’ Federline told us, adding that he has been offered ‘seven figures’ to do sit down interviews.

But, he turned them down because it’s ‘not about the money.’

‘I mean, I understand why people think that way because they’ve been told that for so long, but this isn’t about money. If anything, I’ve learned over all of this time what’s important to me, and none of that has to do with money.

‘Family is everything. Money is the possession that [gets you] material things. They don’t belong in this conversation right now. This is so much bigger than that. And I mean, that’s the one thing I wish that people could see.’

He said he is in touch with some of Spears’ relatives, claiming ‘they understand what I’m trying to do’ because they too have ‘been trying to help’ the troubled star.

It has been widely reported that Spears is estranged from her father and mother Lynn Spears, as well as her sister, Jamie Lynn.

‘I think that they’re happy that somebody’s actually taken a stance and [is] speaking on these things because they see what I see,’ he added.

As for her sons, Spears claimed on Instagram that one of them has only visited her for 45 minutes in the past five years and the other four times in the same time period.

Federline insisted she has seen both of them ‘within the last year’ – with Sean Preston visiting her last Christmas and Jayden ‘three or four months ago.’ It was around this time she shared a selfie with Jayden at her home.

The communication between Spears and their sons, who are both pursuing careers in music, is ‘pretty open,’ but ‘it’s just not what it should be.’

‘That’s a fluid situation. Something that needs work, and there’s a lot to try to be built on right there,’ he said. ‘My sons are adults now, so I mean, they have to really figure out what they’re trying to do with that situation… I don’t want them living under the shadow of all of this.’

For his part, he said he hasn’t had communication with his ex ‘for a long time.’ ‘It’s definitely been some years,’ he said.

Federline insisted he isn’t trying to ‘paint myself as the perfect person’ but that, unlike Spears, he was ‘able to focus on what was important, and that was my children’ when their marriage started to break down in the public eye.

‘There’s a lot that didn’t get shared [in the book],’ he said. ‘I’m just trying to paint the picture because I feel like it’s important for me to tell my truth.

‘Go read the book because the way that it’s being portrayed in the book is just with so much compassion and trying to understand, and I feel it’s very important for people to read my words or listen to my words in this.’
