The truth behind Sydney Sweeney, Jonathan Davino's post-split lunch outing

Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino are choosing to remain amicable after ending their engagement.

According to an insider, the duo’s recent appearance together in Los Angeles left many surprised as it wasn’t just a relationship but two individuals who had been living together and making plans for their future.

“They still have things to figure out,” the source told People on Tuesday.

“Sydney’s mind is very much on work though. She’s doing well.”

A rep did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Fans were taken aback when Sweeney was spotted having lunch with her ex-fiancé at the Beverly Glen Deli in Los Angeles over the weekend, shortly after announcing the end of their relationship and the cancellation of their wedding.

For the surprising outing, the 27-year-old beauty opted for an incognito look, wearing an oversized light blue hoodie, sunglasses, slouchy jeans, and sneakers. This unexpected reunion has definitely caused a stir among their followers.

The former couple first started dating in 2018 and got engaged four years later. All seemed well until an insider told TMZ in February that their wedding, originally planned for May, had been postponed, with Sweeney checking into the Beverly Hills Hotel for a month without her betrothed.

In March, the “Nocturne” actress sent breakup rumors into overdrive by deleting a steamy PDA pic with Davino from her Instagram feed.

Us Weekly finally reported on March 26 that the pair’s engagement was off, with People confirming their split on March 31.

Amid the news, a source told People that the “Immaculate” star was “overwhelmed” by “her relationship and her wedding.”

“She didn’t feel right about it,” they added.

Meanwhile, the blonde bombshell kicked off a whole new set of rumors by stepping out for dinner in Dallas with her “Anyone But You” co-star Glen Powell.

However, a source told TMZ Sweeney was in town to attend Powell’s sister’s wedding, and they did not attend the event as a couple.

Glen’s mother, Cyndy Powell, also quelled romance speculation earlier this month by telling the Daily Mail that Glen and Sweeney are “definitely not together.”

“We love Sydney. We’ve considered her just a really, really good friend,” she told the outlet.
