A tragic incident has unfolded in South Carolina, where a 19-year-old man faces charges for the horrific murder of his grandparents.
Authorities apprehended Levi Kevin Jones on Friday night, accusing him of murdering his grandparents, Larry Moore, aged 76, and Sandra Moore, aged 75.
Their lifeless bodies were discovered on January 15 after a concerned family member was unable to reach them despite repeated attempts.
Jones is also facing charges for possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, with two counts filed against him.
Investigators confirmed the deaths as homicides, revealing that Larry Moore suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso and neck, while Sandra Moore was found strangled, as detailed in a statement from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
The Moore’s son-in-law, Kevin Jones, said that the ‘whole family is devastated.’
‘Why anyone would hurt these two precious people is beyond imagination. My mother-in-law and father-in-law were the most precious people God ever created. Absolutely heartbroken,’ he wrote on Facebook.
According to Jones, Larry was an avid fisherman who would often tell stories of fishing trips with his father, Furman Moore, and his brother, Ricky, when they were young.
