In a troubling incident on Chicago’s West Side, authorities are actively searching for three individuals involved in an attack that left a man critically injured. This victim, it has been revealed, is the father of Tiffany Henyard, the former mayor of Dolton.
The violent episode unfolded on March 25, at approximately 5:54 p.m., on the 1300 block of South Kedzie Avenue, located in the North Lawndale neighborhood. According to police reports, the ambush resulted in Henyard’s father sustaining severe injuries, though thankfully, he is expected to survive.

Last month, Tiffany Henyard confirmed to ABC7 that her father was indeed the man wounded in this alarming shooting. As investigations continue, the Chicago police are working diligently to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for this attack.
Henyard’s father was critically wounded in the shooting, but did survive.

The former Dolton mayor also issued a statement, writing in part, “Yes, it is true, my family has been directly affected by the senseless gun violence that continues to plague Illinois. Yesterday, my father, my hero was an innocent victim of this random and heartbreaking violence, This tragedy has shaken my family to its core, and unfortunately, it reflects a reality that far too many families across our state are facing.”
No further information about the shooting was immediately available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
