WASHINGTON — Shata Traders Inc. has issued a recall for its Majestic Chef Pan brand of 24-centimeter milk pans, following an announcement from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday. The recall is prompted by concerns that these pans may release dangerous levels of lead into food.

The affected cookware, sold under the Majestic Chef Pan name, has been distributed across several states including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, and Massachusetts. These items are available both in six-piece box sets and as individual units in retail stores.

After routine testing by the FDA, it was discovered that the milk pans could potentially leach lead, posing a significant health risk to consumers. Shata Traders, based in Brooklyn, quickly responded with a recall to address the safety concerns.

Health experts emphasize that lead exposure is hazardous to individuals of all ages, with no established safe level of exposure. Children and developing fetuses are particularly at risk due to their smaller size and the rapid pace of their growth, making them more susceptible to the harmful effects of lead.

Lead exposure poses serious health risks to people of all ages, with no known safe exposure level, according to health officials. Children and fetuses are particularly vulnerable due to their smaller body size and rapid development.

Low levels of lead exposure in children can cause learning difficulties, reduced IQ and behavioral changes without obvious symptoms. Higher exposure levels may result in fatigue, headaches, stomach pain, vomiting and neurological problems in people of any age.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled products.

Consumers who purchased the milk pans should stop using them immediately and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
