The recall identifies a risk where the power cord may not fit securely into the treadmill’s socket, potentially loosening during use. This defect could lead to overheating, raising concerns about fire and burn hazards.

To date, there have been at least 27 incidents reported involving the overheating of the power cord socket, although thankfully, no injuries have occurred as a result.

The recall impacts several models, including Matrix Retail T30, TF30, T50, TF50, and T75, as well as Vision T9800, TF20, T40, and T80 treadmills. These units were sold between April 2012 and May 2025, with prices ranging from approximately $2,100 to $8,100. They were available through various fitness retailers and online platforms across the nation. For a detailed list of affected models, refer to the official recall notice.

The recall covers Matrix Retail T30, TF30, T50, TF50, and T75 treadmills, Vision T9800, TF20, T40, and T80 treadmills sold from April 2012 through May 2025. They cost about $2,100 and $8,100 and were sold at multiple fitness retailers and online outlets nationwide. See a full list here. 

Model names and serial number locations are on the lower front crossbar near the power switch.

Consumers are urged to check their treadmills to see if it has a power cord bracket and make sure the cord is fully plugged in before each use until a repair is completed. 

Owners of affected models can contact Johnson Health Tech North America for a replacement power cord with an automatic locking-style plug to be installed without tools, the CPSC said.

The recall expands an earlier 2024 notice involving commercial Matrix treadmills, which had a similar safety issue.
