The United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) revealed on Friday that a U.S. military operation targeting suspected drug traffickers in the Caribbean resulted in the deaths of three individuals.
“On February 13, under the directive of #SOUTHCOM commander General Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear executed a lethal strike on a vessel linked to Designated Terrorist Organizations,” SOUTHCOM stated in a post on X.
SOUTHCOM shared aerial footage capturing the moment the vessel was hit.

The command further explained in the post, “Intelligence verified that the vessel was traveling along recognized drug-trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was actively involved in narcotics operations.”
Three narco-terrorists were killed during the operation, the joint command said.
No U.S. military personnel were harmed in the operation, the command added.
