In a strategic operation on December 29, the U.S. Southern Command’s Joint Task Force Southern Spear executed a lethal strike on a vessel linked to recognized terrorist organizations in international waters, resulting in the deaths of two individuals identified as narco-terrorists.

According to an announcement by SOUTHCOM on the social media platform X, the strike was carried out under the guidance of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. It was confirmed that the targeted vessel was navigating established narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific, a significant corridor for such illegal activities.
