In Oakmont, Pennsylvania, the final round of the U.S. Open came to a halt at 4:05 p.m. due to heavy rain that drenched the Oakmont course. The rain caused standing water on the greens and fairways, forcing play to stop. The competition is scheduled to resume at 5:40 p.m.

Players were taken to the safety of the clubhouse as the rain poured down. After seven holes, Sam Burns, who was leading with a score of 2-under par, was ahead of Adam Scott by one shot, who was at 1-under par at the time of the stoppage.

Viktor Hovland and Tyrrell Hatton were both through eight holes and 1-over par, three shots off the lead.

Carlos Ortiz and J.J. Spaun were 2-over par.

Despite Spaun initially leading after 18 and 36 holes and consistently being near the top of the leaderboard, he struggled in the final round. He had a rough start with bogeys on five of his first six holes, causing him to fall back in the rankings.

At the time of the weather delay, Jon Rahm, who shot 67 with birdies on his final three holes, was the leader in the clubhouse at 4-over par.
