Jose Quintana is set to embark on a new chapter in his baseball career, making his way to a team not typically known for its pitcher-friendly environment.

The 37-year-old southpaw has reached an agreement with the Colorado Rockies, as reported by ESPN’s Jesse Rogers on Tuesday evening.

While the specifics of the contract remain undisclosed and are contingent on the completion of a medical evaluation, this move marks a significant addition to Colorado’s roster.

In six career outings at Coors, Quintana has a 5.40 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 42 innings.

Quintana is expected to pitch for his home country in March as part of the 2026 World Baseball Classic before he takes the mound in Denver.

The Rockies are hoping to get out of the National League doldrums after three straight seasons of 100-plus losses, including a baseball-worst 119 defeats in 2025.
